This is a quick illustration of how I mounted my camera.

Note on the camera there are "rails" on each side of the camera to allow the camera

to be mounted to the left .. upright (as shown) .. or to the right.

The front lens of the camera can be rotated .. and by aligning the white dot you are oriented ok.

The mount I used was the GoPro suction cup shown below.

Note:  I did not use anything but the mount ... since their mount is not compatible anyways.

One of the "design" goals was to keep the camera as close to the helmet as possible.

The more distance the camera is from the helmet will result in greater camera movement.

  The end result was this.

I have two detachable lanyards that are a "safety" feature.

The 1st which came with the camera connects between the camera and the mount.

The second is a nylon shoelace that I secured to the suction cup, with a loop at the bottom.

I place my chin strap thru the loop when putting on my helmet.

Shown below is the mounting block I had a friend fab using a block of aluminum.

If you also look real close, you can see two of  three pieces of electrical tape.

This is how I know to where to place the suction cup to insure proper alignment.

A little too forward and you will record only the road ...

A little to far back and you will record only the sky.

And when the camera is not mounted, you would never know the tape is there.
